Another enchanting day with the Baron & Baron team. Took alot of toys into the desert, nearly got blown away with wind at times, and ended up using a single projector for these shots. So many amazing images and moments came out of this day beyond what I was involved in.

More lighting and laser work with Fabien Baron and the Baron and Baron team. I honestly treasure every time I share a space with Fabien because of the energy and love he puts into everything. He gave me ton of freedom on this one and we share a love of this bright things in dark spaces approach in both of our work. Its fun to run towards his vision.
Embassy Row reached out and asked me to design a workflow and technically produce the 9 episodes of “Inside the Boys” this season. Epic XR project with a team I assembled that felt like an all star list of my favorite partners. Aggressive on the animation and world building side again. Fuse supporting me on LED. Lighting, rigging, servers, full turnkey show from my west coast team with brand new Show Ninja servers for 4k XR systems. Built many extremely useful functionalities custom to this show that will help other shows moving forward. Touchdesigner for the shell and behavior functions with Notch drawing the XR world sandbox style. We used Stype for tracking. Touchdesigner programming by myself and Notch work by Aggressive and Tigrelab team. Great support from the Touch team as always and made new friends with the engineers and creators at Notch. Super fun project I wont forget.
Really fun home project with Nikki Nair and DJ ACEY for a Worst Behavior Records release.
Entire video is built from a single phone video of Acey throwing down some authentic Chicago footwork/juke feet.
Built in Touchdesigner in one night with Anna Morgan sitting shotgun.

Working with Batwin and Robin and the team at Fuse Technologies. The Earth’s Call climate conference opening concert with so many amazing artists, in a stunning setting. A joy of a gig. The fabric sails are a permanent part of this venue. 18 outputs of Barco UDX double stacks. Lots of mapping and large canvas playback. 2.5 hour concert with timecode and hand triggered portions. Show programming in Touchdesigner.
Working alongside Fuse Technologies again to support ABC News for the democratic primary debate. TSU in Houston. Huge show of high end LED walls and projection. Playback and cueing for the entire arena run within Touchdesigner. More than 14 million live viewers.
Another quarantine remote project.
Daniel Stewart, a very dear old friend from IU music school is now the conductor at Santa Cruz Symphony and San Francisco Youth.
He reached out for “something better than glorified zoom” to show this Mason Bates composition that the members had recorded themselves at home for.
They gave me 88 videos, we worked on getting them as synced as possible, and then I pulled them all in Touchdesigner and started playing with instancing and testing the limits of my playback throughput.
Really nice to work in the classical world again after so many years away from it.
Laser and Projection fun with DP and fellow racer, Macgregor for Acura 2022 MDX reveal video.

Fun car treatments with good friends at Aggresive.tv again.
We built a 3 mil LED structure 30' high, 120' linear, 3 sided box with an additional ceiling on motorized trolleys and rigged for tilting.
Custom touchdesigner engine for driving 10 outputs of 1920 x 1080 cued from camera automation.
Live color grading LED as well as painting the position of the LED ceiling on the car per shot proved to be very effective.

Rally on the River event for American Express and the 2015 US Open
Momentum reached out to me about a few water shows at the same time including this one. It went through many versions of grandeur before time and logistics placed us on a pier with a water curtain.
The event centered around a realtime interactivity component with animation engines, sound FX, lighting and lasers responding to players and tennis ball position.
Here are three videos, one of the actual deliverable edit, one a compilation of assets from Volvox, and the third a full event recording.

Bionic League reached out during a very busy fashion week for Kanye. I was tasked with using an LED ceiling as a light box similar to office fluorescents with as much flexibility and color shift as possible. Used Touchdesigner to create the grid and drove each cell as a fixture from the lighting desk for motion.
Working with the broadcast team to find this stark, cold, almost macabre vibe with emptiness behind at certain moments was an interesting coloring task. Models needed to look great in the space while also creating a very stylized look on camera.
Ended up creating an interface in the lemur to run the cells and work the color mixing on an ipad from out on the floor with models in the space during rehearsal creative process.
Music video for Lion Babe track “The Wave”
A modern process of a classic style. Used a lot of Touchdesigner in this one for compositing.
The track has been selected by the American Heart Association as the official song for their “Kids Heart Challenge,” a nationwide physical education initiative aimed to get kids in participating schools dancing as a means of heart-healthy exercise and raise funds for the organization’s life-saving mission.

Projection, lighting and rigging design.
Lair shot and created content we used for a 5 city tour of reveal events around the US.
BMF agency asked me to create an entry experience to calm down people entering the Sheraton demo space from the hectic and hot streets of Times Square.
I built a generative particle engine with real time wind and leaves sourced from Sheraton branding.
Integrated the environment into one canvas spanning 6 projectors and 4 Monitors.
Monitors cycled through data points as wind engine runs down the hallway walls and floor.

Got a chance to provide projection backdrops with color grading for a couple scenes of the Miley Cyrus video “Younger Now”. A simple task that caused me to be present for a fun set and shoot.
Directed by Diane Martel
Being from Appalachia, Miley holds a special place for me and it was a blast to work with her team for a day. Great vibes all around, warmed my heart to hear familiar accents from her family; Watching her and Diane work is a riot. Got to see the Jeremy Scott looks photo shoot the same day. How the two work together to pull off fun photos was really playful and special.
Post Show in the tent outside of the Forum following the MTV VMAs.
Tasked by Viacom to build content and mapping engine for LED sculpture style scenery.
VJ’d the full tent from Production Bot briefcase running Touchdesigner.
Got another opportunity to design a performance lighting look on Late Show with Letterman. This time for Tove Lo.
This was a tricky one. Less than a week to prepare. Have never met Tove. Letterman as a workflow only includes a short afternoon rehearsal. Approximately 3 run throughs of your song. Load in and tech in 4 hours in the morning. Hang projectors and trace out the set as quickly as possible.
Lighting balance with a mixture of dim tungsten and moving light color temp. Front light of projector black. Bright blue reflective floor.
Wow.
The CBS team is so pro and a joy to work with. We were able to include a small cast of NYC dancers to support the club atmosphere Tove wanted to create. I reached out to my network and pulled some aces on short notice.

The primary design goal was to create a different look than had been on Letterman in the past while creating a current club atmosphere in line with the aesthetic of the official video.
I had a chance to direct lighting on Late Show with Letterman for singer/songwriter Ryn Weaver.
It was a really special day for me personally because of the history I have on that 53rd St block. 14 years earlier I was a performer across the street at the Broadway with Blast!. I used to go to rehearsals at Letterman of amazing artists and I still have a Juliette Lewis signed, Natural Born Killers soundtrack from meeting her over there. A few years later I found myself working back at the Broadway as a climbing lighting and projection tech for a number of shows. Ive worked sound next door at studio 54, as well as lighting and projection for shows at the Roseland. Letterman was the last theater on that block to check off and the late night team is all changing over to Colbert in May so time was running out. The team was really friendly and open to what I wanted to try. Big thanks to Tim Stephenson and Richard Tyndall for really nailing the look and putting homework time into the programming for us.
Ryn is excited, full of creativity, beautiful and definitely dropping into some big waves right now with a great team of producers and management around her. Spent a few hours with her management and Benny Blanco hanging out backstage talking about her album that is almost finished and its got a lot of people excited.

While working for Livestream in 2012, I found myself doing a mixture of cutting cameras or shooting photos for a number of shows for Made Fashion Week at Milk Studios in New York. Here are just a handful of favorite photos I managed to get. I honestly enjoy the backstage personalities and interactions more than shooting runway.
